Who does JIWS serve?

If you've accomplished everything you were supposed to and still feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or empty inside — you're exactly who we had in mind.
We also welcome men and individuals of all backgrounds who are seeking culturally responsive, holistic support.

do you take insurance?
Yes. JIWS currently accepts the following insurance plans for individual therapy:
Aetna
Cigna
Anthem BCBS
Please note: Insurance is not accepted for couples therapy. All couples sessions are self-pay.
If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed — we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your out-of-network benefits before scheduling.
What is the self pay rate?
What are your self-pay rates?
Individual Therapy: $125 per session
Couples Therapy: $145 per session
Student Sessions: $75 per session
We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as FSA and HSA payment methods
do you do a sliding scale?
Each clinician maintains a limited number of sliding scale spots. JIWS also participates in Open Path Collective, a membership-based program that connects clients with therapists offering reduced-rate sessions. If cost is a barrier, we encourage you to mention it when you submit your intake form and we'll do our best to find a fit.
how long are sessions?
Standard sessions are 45 to 60 minutes. Extended sessions of 75 to 90 minutes are available upon request and at the clinician's discretion.
Insurance note: Most insurance plans only cover 45 to 50-minute sessions. Extended sessions may not be covered. Please confirm your benefits with your insurance provider.
what is your current availability?
Availability varies by clinician and current caseload. The best way to find out if we're a fit is to submit your intake form at javerywellness.com/get-started. From there, our intake coordinator will reach out to match you with the right clinician and confirm scheduling options.
Are you in person or virtual?
JIWS is a 100% virtual practice. All sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform — so you can show up from wherever you feel most comfortable, whether that's your home, your car, or your office.
What can I expect during my first session?
Your first session is about getting grounded and getting to know each other. Your therapist will create a safe, supportive space where you can share what brought you here, what you're hoping to work through, and what you want your life to feel like on the other side.
You can expect:
An open conversation about your current challenges and goals
Collaborative goal-setting so your therapy feels intentional, not generic
An overview of how sessions are structured and what to expect going forward
Space to ask any questions you have about the process
You won't be rushed, and you won't be pushed to share more than you're ready to. This is your time.
Do you offer anything beyond individual and couples therapy?
Yes! In addition to individual and couples therapy, JIWS offers a rotation of groups and workshops throughout the year. Visit our Events page to see what's currently available and grab your spot.
